Our Fellowships, Scholarships and Endowments

Endowment funds, privately contributed philanthropic gifts, play an important role in both public and private institutions of higher learning. As resources for higher education increasingly fluctuate and sometimes dwindle, endowment efforts are making a critical difference in many universities. Awareness of this fact led the Department to establish an endowment policy based upon privately contributed gifts prudently invested as trust funds. The interest generated from these trust funds is used to carry out the objectives of the gifts in perpetuity. Many alumni, faculty members, and friends of the Department have realized this vital need throughout the years and their generous support has greatly assisted the Department in its continuing efforts to maintain excellence in its academic endeavors.
