University of Minnesota
The University of Minnesota is an internationally renowned research and teaching institution. It was created before Minnesota was officially granted statehood and in 1862 the state legislature designated the institution as its "land-grant" and major research university.

The Twin Cities has campuses in Minneapolis and St. Paul that are connected by a connector bus. The St. Paul campus, where the Department of Plant Pathology is located, is basically a life sciences campus with approximately 5,000 students.

The campus is home to three Colleges: Food, Agricultural, and Natural Resource Sciences, Biological Sciences, and Veterinary Medicine. Several seminar series provide learning opportunities in all aspects of biology. See the University of Minnesota home page for more information.
