Kinkel, Jin, Arenz, Dondore-Arias, alumni among 2019 APS award winners

Plant Health 2019 meeting in Cleveland, Ohio (August 3-7), several current and former department members were recognized for their contributions to the American Phytopathological Society (APS) and to the field of plant pathology.

During the Plant Health 2019 meeting in Cleveland, Ohio (August 3-7), several current and former department members were recognized for their contributions to the American Phytopathological Society (APS) and to the field of plant pathology.  Professor Linda Kinkel and USDA-ARS Scientist and Adjunct Professor Yue Jin were named APS Fellows. Assistant Teaching Professor Brett Arenz was selected as the recipient of the APS Excellence in Teaching Award. Postdoctoral researcher JP Dundore-Arias (Kinkel Laboratory) was awarded the APS Volunteer Award by APS Council.  Outgoing APS President and UMN alumna Mary Palm (M.S., 1979; Ph.D. 1983) was named APS Fellow and alumnus Phil Berger (M.S., 1980) received the APS Excellence in Regulatory Affairs & Crop Security Award.
