Linda Kinkle and student

We all know Linda Kinkel to be a person of boundless energy and significant scientific impact.  Now we can also add an “award-winning mentor” to that list!  Linda is one of two PIs University-wide to receive the 2020 Excellence in Postdoctoral Advising Award.  This award, comprising a plaque and a $500 gift, will be bestowed on September 21 by President Joan Gabel, Vice Provost and Dean of Grad Education Scott Lanyon, and UMN Assistant Dean Rhonda Jones-Webb.  In reviewing Linda’s nomination, the review committee concluded that She is an “inspiring scientist” who, even during a COVID-related period of physical distancing, provided her advisees with adapted opportunities for professional development and scholarly publication/presentation.  The review committee goes on to report that Her advisees describe the lasting impact that she has had on their careers in a language that demonstrates her capacity to make a transformative difference in the professional lives of the postdocs she supervises. Congratulations Linda and thank you for all you do.
