As Professor and Head of the Department of Plant Protection at the National School of Agriculture in Meknes, Morocco, Plant Pathology alumnus Mohammed Boulif (PhD 1986) teaches the next generation of plant pathologists integrated disease management strategies to help them to work with farmers to improve growing practices using sound scientific knowledge and field research results. As the Variety Creation Lead for Pepsico alumnus Haiyan Jia (M.S. 2005) prides herself on being able to create healthy, nutritious and fun food and beverage products for people around the globe. For Plant Pathology Alumna Kathy Kromroy (M.S. 1982, Ph.D. 1999), her work as a Research Plant Pathologist in the Plant Protection Unit of the Minnesota Department of Agriculture extends far beyond conducting research on the different crop groups and pathogens prevalent throughout Minnesota. Kromroy has fostered an inter-institutional relationship between the Department of Plant Pathology, other University partners (University of Minnesota Extension and the Plant Disease Clinic) and the MDA, generating new collaborations that solve plant disease problems across the state.

Robert Noyd Plant Pathology PhD (1995) recently published two books. The most recent, "Mycology Guide: Key Terms and Concepts," was published through American Phytopathological Society Press. This is the second edition of the original "Mycology Reference Cards" published in 2000. The guide serves as a reference for all of those who wish to learn more about mycology.
