Each year, the North Central Division sponsors a Graduate Student Oral Presentation and Poster Competition. In addition to a cash award, as the 1st place winner, Austin is eligible for additional travel funds to represent the North Central Division at the APS annual Plant Health meeting in the "Plant Pathologists of the Future" Graduate Student Symposium. Austin gave his talk title "Are two better than one? Tank-mixing DMI fungicides for managing Cercospora leaf spot of sugar beet."
