Four members (Ahmad Sallam, Oadi Matny, Eric Nazareno and Rae Page) of the Steffenson project presented their research at the 23rd North American Barley Researchers Workshop/43rd Barley Improvement Conference held in Davis, CA on September 22-24, 2022. This was the first time that barley workers from Canada and the United States were able to meet in person as a group since 2017. Over 110 participants attended the conference which covered sessions on breeding, abiotic/biotic stresses, agronomy, quality, and production. Also attending the conference were former members of the Steffenson laboratory including Austin Case (now barley breeder for Anheuser-Busch InBev) and Margaret Krause (Assistant Professor at Utah State University).
