Biography

My PhD thesis involved characterizing the human gut microbiome during enteric infection, specifically exploring changes in antimicrobial resistance within gut communities. As a postdoc, I am excited to apply my skills in bioinformatics and genome analysis to soil microbial communities. I will be working with Streptomyces populations to better understand their interactions -- how they communicate, how they inhibit one another, how they compete for resources -- and to think about how to leverage these characteristics to improve soil health in agricultural settings.
