Biography

I am the senior research scientist in the Soybean Disease Diagnosis and Management Project. Our research emphasis is the ecology and management of soybean diseases important in Minnesota; including Sclerotinia Stem Rot (SSR), Brown Stem Rot (BSR), Sudden Death Syndrome of Soybean, Phytophthora Root Rot, and Asian Soybean Rust. Our disease management research considers both the effects of cultural practices on disease prevalence and occurrence as well as soybean cultivar selection for resistance and tolerance to the major soybean diseases occurring in Minnesota. We collaborate closely with the University of Minnesota Soybean Breeding Project in evaluating breeding lines and Plant Introductions for resistance to soybean diseases.
