B.S. Horticultural Science & Plant Pathology, University of Nebraska-Lincoln
My experience includes work in floral design and also large greenhouse and landscape retail stores. While pursuing my degrees, I had the opportunity to teach a lab, work with undergraduates on independent study projects, participate in a research experiment as an undergraduate, gain experience in the UNL Plant Diagnostic Laboratory, perform inspections of landscape plants for the State of Nebraska, and complete a research project (as a summer intern/scholar sponsored by the American Floral Endowment) at the University of Florida. As a graduate student, my work focused on assessing pathogen variability (Sclerotinia sclerotiorum, cause of white mold in dry bean) in dry bean breeder nursery sites and grower fields.
