Biography

Annie Harvieux is a writer and editor with experience in mass communications, book publishing, and radio. Prior to her work in CFANS, Annie wrote Benefits communications for University OHR, did editorial and production work on environmental nonfiction and poetry at Milkweed Editions, and worked in bookselling and author events, along with other freelance writing and editing credits. Annie graduated cum laude from Harvard College in 2016 with a bachelor's degree in English.

Annie's main goal as a communicator is to welcome others into important cultural conversations by using immediate, engaging language and prioritizing the average reader's needs. Her background in creative writing and radio combines with her rigorous editorial attention to detail to create high-quality communications driven by earnest curiosity. Values centered in her work include environmental justice, social equity, and broad inclusivity.

Annie is a "hobbies person" to the core, and has a library book and sketchbook on her person at all times. Creative projects include an author interview show on 90.3 KFAI, a sporadic webcomic, book reviews and essays in publications like CityPages (RIP) and Rain Taxi, many tiny zines, and nearly infinite drawings for friends. A former D1 cross-country skier, Annie can be found on the trails year-round, whether on skis, in trail running shoes, or with a backpacking pack.
