I earned my doctoral degree in plant-microbe interaction at the Centre for Cellular and Molecular Biology (CCMB), Hyderabad, India, where I studied DAMP (damage-associated Molecular pattern) induced innate immunity of rice. In my post-doctoral research at the Department of Plant Pathology, University of Wisconsin-Madison (UW-Madison), USA, I mainly focused on studying a broad-spectrum fungal pathogen, Sclerotinia sclerotiorum - soybean interaction.
