Krista Ristinen

I have an undergrad degree in Ecology and a master's in Horticulture. I've been working at the CDL in various roles since late 2020 and I enjoy the work and challenges in Plant Pathology. Most of the projects I've been involved in have focused on Wheat Stem Rust and marker assisted selection and backcrossing. I want to have a positive impact on our lab's current and future projects, and be a reliable and helpful support person for our PIs, grad students, post-docs, etc.

I enjoy gardening in a community garden, and I have an extensive houseplant collection.  I recently became a UMN Extension Master Gardener, and am working on becoming more involved in that program. I am also owned by two cats.
